Since taking office, Donald Trump made repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as "Obamacare," one of his key priorities. The ACA, passed in 2010, expanded healthcare access to millions of Americans by offering subsidies to low- and middle-income individuals and expanding Medicaid in many states. Trump and his allies viewed the ACA as government overreach and consistently sought to overturn it through legislative efforts, executive actions, and court challenges.
One of Trump’s central promises during his 2016 campaign and throughout his presidency was to repeal the ACA and replace it with a "better" plan. However, despite multiple attempts, Trump failed to fully repeal the law, and no alternative healthcare plan ever materialized.
